Calm the Spirit & Nourish the Heart

Pressure Points are parts of the body believed to be extra sensitive, able to stimulate relief in the body. Practitioners of reflexology believe that touching pressure points in a certain way can, improve your health, ease pain and restore balance in the body.

In honor of Heart Month we will focus on the Spirit Gate Acupressure Point Heart 7.

Heart 7 Commonly called the Spirit Gate.

The Heart point is where the Love of the Universe continually flows. And is believed the Beauty of the Spirit is released and goodness is present as this point nourishes the warm qualities of stability for the mind and emotions, providing compassion and boundless joy.

Heart 7 is a point located on the wrist. Traditional Eastern medicine practitioners name this point “The Spirit Gate.”

Apply gentle pressure to The Heart 7 Acupressure point. It can be found in the crease of your wrist. It is in line with the space between your ring and little finger, this will help to alleviate a wide array of problems such as:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • insomnia
  • palpitations due to fright, irritability, stress

Functions: Calms the Shen, tonifies and regulates the Heart Blood and Qi.

Other Beneficial Gates….

Gates of consciousness points are located at the base of the skull in the parallel hollow areas between the two vertical neck muscles. To use these pressure points:

  1. Place your index and middle fingers of either hand onto these pressure points.
  2. Press firmly upward on both sides at once for 10 seconds, then release and repeat.

Applying firm touch to these pressure points can help relieve headaches
caused by tension in the neck.
