Acupuncture is here. Acupuncture is now. Acupuncture works.

This is the philosophy behind Dr. Ashley Hoyt’s Key West Wellness Center. We’re Key West’s authoritative source for all things acupuncture.

At the Key West Wellness Center you’ll find answers to questions about acupuncture, like:

    • How does acupuncture relieve stress?
    • Does acupuncture help detoxify my body?
    • Can acupuncture increase my energy levels?
    • How can acupuncture help me heal and recover?
    • What affect does acupuncture have on my moods like anxiety or depression?

Dr. Ashley Hoyt has been a Practitioner of Acupuncture for over 20 years. As the owner of the Key West Wellness Center she has successfully treated hundreds of clients using the ancient Chinese method. In this informational series, Dr. Ashley shares the wide ranging benefits of this simple, yet effective treatment.

Dr. Ashley Hoyt also provides the proven basis for acupuncture. She introduces the ancient scientific thinking that has established this practice for over three millennia. KWWC also uses AcuGraph, a top-of-the-line diagnostic tool that aids in the detection of energy points throughout the body that improve acupuncture treatments.

  • Famous and Fabulous – the Secret Behind our New Red Door

What do you think of when you see red?

Anger? Heat? Fire? Here at the Clinic of Alternative Medicine it’s being used to make us ‘famous’!

Red is associated with romance in the West, good luck in China and it’s the color of weddings in India. In Chinese culture, a bright red hue symbolizes joy and fortune. Money is given in red envelopes and the color red is forbidden at funerals. Red roses have been given as a symbol of love – and we love these ones currently adorning our front desk.

red roses in key westIn Feng Shui, the South area is associated with the color red. This area of the home, space, office or in our case, clinic, is also tied to recognition and fame. Here is the Feng Shui Bagua map, showing the red section that lies in the South area of a space. Thanks to http://www.fengshui-macylu.com

The door at the end of the clinic in the corridor was one of those push bar, fire exit doors. I don’t have a before picture but it looked something like this:

    boring door
    Pretty boring, right?

As it is a fire door, we have to have it. But the flow of energy, chi, in any space, is constantly shifting. If the South area of our Bagua map was supposed to be linked with recognition and fame, was this door really doing us justice? We have a good social media presence, our website gets lots of visitors from people wanting acupuncture, massage and natural vitamin injections. (Dr. Ashley Hoyt administers vitamin injections directly into acupressure points, learn more here) but could we do better by keeping and attracting positive energy to this area of the Clinic?

    So we went to work!

We also added a bamboo decal. Bamboo is known as a Feng Shui ‘cure’ as it helps attract good energy. The Clinic of Alternative Medicine uses bamboo a lot in images on our brochures and website.

Look at the bright red! The bamboo decal adds a delicate touch. The wording is from a passage in Corinthians, “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

So, as an experiment, we’ll have to see whether this red door makes us famous! The first thing we noticed is a lot more energy in that area of the clinic. Instead of a receding,’dead’ space at the back of the corridor, the door attracts the eye and is a conversation piece. People talk about it. Here I am blogging about it. Will it bring us recognition and fame?

It worked for Elizabeth Arden. In the 1930’s and on, the fabulous Elizabeth Arden red door salons became as famous as the Coca Cola brand. Next time you’re in the Clinic, take a look at the door and tell us what you think! Meanwhile, it might not make us famous but it really does make us smile.

What do you think of the red door? Have you ever had success with Feng Shui? Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture?
